Escaped inmate captured by VPPD Friday

On Friday, Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue reported that an inmate was captured after escaping from the city jail around 11:30 a.m. on August 18, 2017.
The inmate was Jordan Semien of 119 East Pine Street, Ville Platte.
According to a release from the Ville Platte Police Department, when officers with the VPPD learned that an inmate had escaped from the city jail they began “searching and schools nearby were put on lockdown for safety.”
In the release it stated that “approximately thirty minutes after the search began, the suspect was located at his residence at 119 East Pine Street, where he was found hiding in the bathroom.”
The 26-year-old was “apprehended without incident” and booked into the city jail “on charges of simple escape.”
Semien’s remains incarcerated on a $7,500.00 bond.
