A memorial service will be held for David Kent Glaze, 56, of Pine Prairie, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 13. An inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will follow the inurnment at the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall in Pine Prairie.
Mr. Glaze died Friday, September 5, 2014. He began his oilfield experience with The Analyst. For several years thereafter, he worked nationally and internationally for Sperry-Sun as a Mud Logger and Directional Driller. For the next 27 years, he was in the same line of work for Geolab. He grew up in Pine Prairie but made Texas his home for the last 20 years before returning home to Louisiana in June of last year. He loved learning and sharing his knowledge with those around him. Seldom was a subject (or creature, large or small) about which he didn’t know something. He loved photography and sharing photos with friends and family. He had a unique sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. He was a great dad filled with pride of his four children. He was a fun uncle, a lifetime friend, the best brother and loved by so many!
Survivors include three sons, Edward (E.J.) Glaze of Pine Prairie and Jason Glaze and Tristan Glaze, both of Eagle Lake, Texas; one daughter, HayLee Glaze of Eagle Lake, Texas; one brother, Jeffrey Glaze of Pineville; two sisters, Diana Glaze of Natchez, Mississippi, and Joan Vanicor of Lafayette; one nephew, Joel Dupre’ and his wife, Dana, of New Orleans; one niece, Heather Vanicor of Lafayette; four great-nieces of Baton Rouge and New Orleans; and his girlfriend, Donna Faye Fontenot of Ville Platte.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. Glaze and Gloria Bushnell Glaze; and one nephew, Jason Dupre’.
