Mercelene Tate Fontenot

Funeral services will be held for Mercelene Tate Fontenot, 80, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 18. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Fontenot died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at her residence. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of all Saints, were she served as a eucharistic minster and in the Come Lord Jesus Group.
Survivors include one son, Richard Fontenot and his wife, Lisa, of Pearland, Texas; one daughter, Jackie Fontenot Foret and her husband, Paul, of Mamou; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Issaac Fontenot; her parents, Regile and Rhea Pierrotti Tate; one brother, Remie Fontenot; and one sister, Helen Fontenot.
Visitation will be held at LaVille Funeral Home in Ville Platte, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., today, December 17; and will resume at 8 a.m., Wednesday, December 18, until the time of the services. A Rosary will be recited this evening, December 17, at 6:30 p.m.
Father Mitchell Guidry will officiate.
