VP Boys and Girl’s Club, Inc. closing banquet set for Friday

The Ville Platte Boys and Girls’ Club has partnered with the Evangeline Parish District Attorney’s Office through the Families in Need of Services Program. Over the last two years, FINS has sponsored 15 children to attend the Boys and Girls’ Club, Inc., and has sponsored mentoring projects.

Carmen and Everett Voisin of Milton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 22, 2017.
Carmen, the former Carmen Smith of Ville Platte, and Everett were married in 1967 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Fr. Joseph Brennan officiated the ceremony.

Man has always been fascinated with science fiction. Part of this fascination is finding little green men from Mars in Grover’s Mill, New Jersey. Chuck Jones fed off of this when he created his popular Marvin the Martian character on Looney Tunes.
