VILLE PLATTE -- In a war of the Trojans, the Sacred Heart boy’s and girl’s basketball teams took on East Beauregard here Friday night in a pair of non-district contests.
It is hard to believe, but the halfway point is upon us for the 2016-17 basketball season.
Normally, the Christmas holidays allow high school basketball teams to reflect on the progress made so far this season and the improvements needed before the push toward a district championship.

VILLE PLATTE -- Both the Ville Platte High Bulldogs and the Lady Bulldogs turned up the heat in the second half and burned down any momentum Alexandria Senior High (ASH) may have had, as they each pulled off upset wins over their top-ranked Class 5A opponents here Tuesday night.
BASILE -- The Sacred Heart boys and girls hard court teams took to the floor here Tuesday in a non-district showdown with the Basile Bearcats and the Lady Bearcats.
